Come walk where the soil tells stories
Plan a guided visit to KoMjekejeke — book a heritage walk, a hands-on workshop, or bring a school or community group. We welcome you.
Getting here
KoMjekejeke is a living amaNdebele heritage village in Wallmannsthal, Gauteng — a short drive from Pretoria and Johannesburg. The village is open to guided visitors year-round, with every tour led by community members: the artists, elders, and storytellers themselves.
Three ways to experience the village
Choose a guided walk, a hands-on workshop, or a full festival day.
01Heritage Walking Tour
Walk the painted homestead and hear how each wall records a family's history, from the geometry of the mural line to the meaning behind every colour.
02Mural & Beadwork Workshop
Learn the geometry of the mural line and the language of Ndebele beadwork by hand, guided by the artisans who carry the tradition.
03Festival & Feast
Join a cultural festival — song, dance, and a shared table celebrating pan-African unity, hosted on the village's festival grounds.
Group & school bookings
We welcome school groups, tour operators, and community organisations. Group rates and tailored itineraries — including classroom-ready heritage sessions — are available on request; tell us your group size and dates when you book.
